He was actively involved in the Salvation Army; Hill Country Ministries; and World Wide Missions.

He published many technical papers while at IBM.

His funeral was on Saturday, January 9, 1993 with burial following in Bagdad Cemetery,
Leander, Williamson County, Texas.
