James H. Calvert (1877-82) was the son of Robert Lewis Calvert (1853-1926) who was a farm owner in Greene County, In. and married (1) in 1875, Celia Kelley (1854-87), daughter of Joseph William (1825-1916) and Permella Bland Kelley(1836-87), of Greene County. Their five children were Joseph William (1875-1957) who married Lillie E. Trent (1881-1952); James H. (1877-82); Mary Elizabeth (1882-1948) who married William L. Dougherty (1876-1972); Ada Blanche (1884-1969); and Amy Victoria Calvert (1886-1976) who married Foster Abrell (1886-1970) and a daughter was Faye C. Abrell (1909-2003). Robert Lewis Calvert married (2) after 1887, Melinda Emaline "Emma" McDaniel (1862-1921). Their nine children were Roxie E. (1888-1940) who married Floyd Cowan (1885-1958); Eliza Jane (1890-1927) who married Orval Goodwin (1885-1963) and had Leona Goodwin Hunter (1919-2001); Emery Stephen (1891-1981) who married Vera Goodwin (1893-1931) and had Doris Ann Calvert Skirvin (1913-93); Lettie Edith (1894-1952) who married Samuel Phipps (1890-1983); John Calvin (1895-1955) who married Emma Lou Bingham (1898-1952); Ona Mary (1897-1929) who married Ross L. Gentry (1895-1963) and had Wilfred Glenn (1915-66) and Glapha Gladys Gentry Boles (1920-2014); Lena May (1900-41) who married Clyde Flory (1899-1967); Lola (1903-64) who married Dewey Bingham (1900-70); and Mavis Calvert (1906-18).

Ada Blanche Calvert (1884-1969) married in 1911, Elsworth Abrell (1883-1951), of Spencer, In. Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Abrell (1912-93)(I.U. 1936), married Raymond Gray (1914-2000).
