Linda Lee Baum Evans With as much dignity and grace as she lived each day of her life, Linda Lee Evans returned to the arms of her Heavenly Father on August 13, 2016. Linda was born on March 1, 1941 to Lloyd L. and Louise Allred Baum. She was a daddy’s girl and the apple of his eye. Tragically, at the age of 11, she lost her parents in a drunk driving accident. She spent her teenage years moving from family to family. The only thing she wanted was to have her own family. When she met Blaine Evans, she knew her dreams had come true. They were married April 25, 1958 in Spanish Fork, Utah. They began their family with the birth of their oldest daughter, Teresa, followed closely by Lisa and Andrea. After many prayers, she gave birth to her only son, Daniel Lloyd. In a hard turn of events, they lost their daughter, Lisa, in a swimming accident. As Linda always did, she turned to her Savior to help her through and soon her family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 7, 1970. Their family became complete when they found out they were expecting their baby, SuzAnne. However, as Linda was pregnant, she lost her only sister, Beverly, in a plane crash.

Linda never had an easy life, but you would never had known it. She handled every trial that came her way with childlike faith. Many times she shared the fact that her Heavenly Father told her what she would go through and she agreed, so she couldn’t go back on her word. Linda worked her entire life to raise her children to be close. She always taught us that family was the most important thing on earth and the only thing that we could take with us to eternity. Those teachings got her family and her daughter, Andie, through the death of a daughter, Danielle. She funded yearly girls trips to St. George and Park City and many other fun events for her girls and her friends. She provided matching pajamas every Christmas for each member of her family. She was constantly giving, most often anonymously, to those in need. She always felt that she was given so much and wanted to share and help others.

At the age of 37, Linda decided she wanted to help many others and she started nursing school. She balanced family life with a rigorous school schedule and running on the Spanish Fork Ambulance. Never did she shirk any duty and ended up graduating as the valedictorian of her nursing class. She worked as a nurse at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for 17 years. Every year she would hand make a Christmas gift for each co-worker, sometimes numbering 75 homemade gifts.

Blaine and Linda had a one of a kind love story. She often remarked that she didn’t know what she did to deserve him. Blaine provided well for her and was always her staunchest protector. As they grew older together, Linda’s mortal body started to decline. She had numerous back surgeries, knee replacements, and most recently a hip replacement. During each trial, Blaine took excellent care of her. Even though her body was weak at times, her spirit never was. She taught many by her example. Linda tried her best to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ here on earth. She served as a primary chorister, Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, and Stake Camp Director along with many other callings. Most recently she had the privilege of teaching an amazing class of 11 year olds in Primary. Linda had a strong testimony of the gospel and often shared it at family gatherings.
