Margie Jane Griffin was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on August 3, 2016 from her home in Tumwater, Washington. She was born September 19, 1938 to Harry and Ruth Williams in Alvin, Wisconsin. Margie married Kenneth Griffin on July 9, 1955, in Centralia, Washington, and over the years they called Baytown, Texas; Placerville, California; Horatio, Arkansas; Tenino and Olympia, Washington, their home as well. Kenneth passed away on November 29, 2011.

Margie was a very loving and caring person and she treated everyone with kindness and compassion. She connected easily with everyone so no one was ever a stranger. The bible was always a source of comfort and enjoyment for her, and she shared her love for the word of God freely with others. She loved to cook and was well known for her skills in the kitchen, in particular her delicious desserts, such as her chocolate pie and applesauce stack cake. She loved to crochet, read, write letters, and play the accordion and organ, but most of all she enjoyed talking to others.

She is survived by her three sons, Gary Griffin (Theresa), Alvin Griffin, and Gaylen Griffin (Wendy); a daughter, Melody Porter (Keith); two brothers, Sam Williams and Marshall Williams Sr. (Virginia); as well as her sister, Elizabeth White. She had 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Grand Mound Cemetery, Rochester, Washington.

A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
