Timothy Lewis Opheim passed away surrounded by love after a brief battle with cancer on August 11th 2016. Tim was born to Lewis and Dora (Dyste) Opheim in Alexandria, MN November 6, 1949. He grew up in Chisago, MN and joined the navy where he spent 8 years as a nuclear submarine electrician. Upon discharge from the navy he went to Vo-tech school for photo finishing technician. He got a job for Agfa where he worked for 23 years. He married Lynette Appel in April 1979 and proceeded to have 3 daughters and one step daughter as well as 6 grandchildren.

Tim greatly enjoyed photography, watching the MN Twins, telling stories from childhood, his days in the navy, movies, and spending time with his grandchildren. His real passion was listening to music and discovering music with his "music mining" and live concerts. He had a quick Witt and was always a jokester and will be forever loved and missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lynette, his parents Lewis and Dora Opheim, and his siblings Debra Gahr and David Opheim.

Tim is survived by his daughters Amanda (David) Fix, Emily (Ken) Groeneweg, Gayle (Darrel) Weslander, and Janelle (Jason) Fick; grandchildren Georgia, Autumn, Anora, Elizabeth, Kaiden, and Joseph; sisters Patty (Lawrence) Svien and Kris (Brad) Skoog; brother-in-law Brian Gahr; and many other relatives and friends.

Amanda, Emily, Gayle and all the extended family thanks you for all the love and support we have received.
