Jeannette's Story
DANVERS: Jeannette M. (Soucy) Masse, 103, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 4, 2015. She was the devoted wife of the late Leon J. Masse, with whom she had shared 78 years of marriage.
Born in Salem and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Michaud) Soucy. As a young woman she first worked for the former Hotwatt Co. of Danvers. She and Leon married in 1935, and shortly after, moved to Salem where they devoted their time to raising their young family. As their children got older, Jeannette began working for Shetland Industries in Salem until her retirement.
