SISTER MARY CAROLITA YOUNG, 93, Mount Saint Joseph, died Nov. 29, at her residence. Young was a native of St. Mary, an educator and an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Lorenzo Carroll and Mary Loretto Higdon Young. A funeral Mass was held Dec. 1 at Mount Saint Joseph with burial in the convent cemetery. Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, 8001 Cummings Road, Maple Mount, KY 42356. Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, was in charge of the arrangements.

SISTER MARY CAROLITA YOUNG, 93, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Nov. 29, 2006, at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 74th year of religious life. She was a native of St. Mary in Marion County. An educator for 60 years, Sister Mary Carolita taught at Flaherty High School, 1963-64, and served as librarian at Flaherty Elementary School, 1964-83. She served as teacher and librarian in many elementary and high schools in Kentucky, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Missouri. After her retirement, she served 10 years part-time in the community library at Mount Saint Joseph. Sister Mary Carolita is survived by a sister-in-law, Aileen C. Young, Lebanon; nieces and nephews; and the members of her religious community. The funeral Mass was Dec. 1 from Mount Saint Joseph with burial in the convent cemetery, directed by Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro. Gifts in memory of Sister Mary Carolita Young may take the form of donations to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, 8001 Cummings Road, Maple Mount, KY 42356.
