JAMES ATCHISON
Mr. James R. Atchison, 89, of Hubbard passed away Monday, November 27, 2006, at a Hubbard nursing center. He was born July 7, 1917, in Peoria, son of the late Hermie A. and Helen Wilma Roberson Atchison. He had been a member of the Lions Club, Hill County Appraisal District Board, Post Oak Water Board and Hubbard Hospital Auxiliary as well as sponsoring a little league softball team. He retired as a construction engineer with Chicago Bridge and Iron, was a Methodist and served as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Littlejohn Atchison, in 2005; two grandsons, Michael Dunmire and Christopher Atchison; one brother, John Henry Atchison; and one sister, Katherine Christian. Survivors include: one son, James Clay (Rusty) Atchison of Crossett, Arkansas; four daughters, Paula Joyce Dunmire of Kansas City, Missouri, Patricia Anne Bayless of Kansas City, Kansas and Margaret Helen Collinsworth and Allene Graves, both of Hubbard; two sisters, Inez Thomason and Betty Howard, both of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; 11

great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Wade Funeral Home Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. Ricky Woodall officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. Pallbearers were David Collinsworth, Dayton Collinsworth, Scott Atchison, Mark Dunmire, Jimmie Atchison and Robert Murphy.
