He was born April 1, 1939 in Picher, OK a son of the late Earl Franklin and Retha Ann (Burress) Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emery Brown, Amanda Nunn, one daughter, Tara, one brother, Sonny and his father and mother-in-law, Howard F. & Esther VanNatter.
Curtis enjoyed making Marlin Spike Seamanship bottles. He loved poetry and to recite it. Curtis loved people and was very acrobatic. His brother Delbert said when they would get ready to go somewhere he would have a couple friends with him, but Curtis would have at least 15 with him.

Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Pecks Mill, WV with President Hank Stowers officiating. Burial will follow at the VanNatter-Ferrell Cemetery, Big Ugly, WV.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 11 am – 12 noon at the church.
