Virginia L. Rasmussen, age 76, a Valders resident, died Monday morning, February 13, 2012, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 25, 1935, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late William M. and Annabelle (Kostka) Tisler. Ginnie was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1953. On January 26, 1957 she married William Rasmussen at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Ginnie was employed at Mirro Aluminum Company of Manitowoc as an operator for many years and then with Copps for 20 years as a head cashier. Ginnie was also employed with Aging Resource Center in Manitowoc and St. Nazianz as their activities coordinator. Ginnie enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading, cross stitching and camping. Family was the most important thing in her life. She loved her grandchildren and always put them first. She loved to laugh and tell jokes, which she did very well. Ginnie also enjoyed her garden, flowers and blue birds.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years: William Rasmussen, Valders; three daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Michael Hackbart, Texas, Kathie and Daniel Doescher, Valders, Susan and Gregg Sielski, North Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren: Katie Hackbart, Matthew (Emily) Hackbart, Lauren (Ian) Earle, Rebekah Hackbart, Megan Doescher, Derek Doescher, Seth Sielski, Drew Sielski; three brothers and sisters-in-law: William and Nancy Tisler, Crivitz, Robert and Karen Tisler, Manitowoc, James and Linda Tisler, Johnson Creek; and two sisters-in-law: Donna and Richard Zajda, Montello and Mary Lou Rasmussen, Arizona. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Nancy Ann; a granddaughter: Stephanie Claire Hackbart and a brother-in-law: Richard Rasmussen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Zimmerman with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012. A 7:30 p.m. prayer service will conclude the visitation. Friends may also call Friday morning at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
