Born in the Philippines, the daughter of General Jonathan Waverly Anderson, US Army, and Dorothy Morgan Anderson (also the daughter of a career Army officer), she would naturally marry a West Pointer. Her husband, Andrew Jackson Goodpaster, was a USMA Graduate of the Class of 1939, and she would follow him in most of his career, to such assignments as Germany (after World War II), Belgium, California and Washington DC. They had two children: Susan Dulaney Goodpaster and Anne Morgan Goodpaster.
