Herbert WC Godbey was married to Mildred Ann Dennie (also spelled Denney) about 1909, according to the 1910 census. Herbert was 21 and Mildred was 14 at the time of their marriage. Sadly, they lost both of their infant daughters, which must have been heartbreaking for this young couple. They were later divorced. Herbert was a farmer and later died in 1919 from tuberculosis at the age of 31. Note that on his headstone his name is spelled Godbey, but on his death certificate it's spelled Godby.
