History of Lycoming by J F Meginnes:

John K Crawford, dealer in leather, was born in Upper Fairfield township Lycoming County and is the youngest son of William & Rebecca Crawford. He was reared in Eldred township and received a common school education. At the age if 20 he and his brothers, Nicholas Jonathan and William engaged in a tannery business at Warrensville and he has ever since followed that trade. In the spring of 1858 he located in Williamsport and erected his present tannery at the crossing of the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad and the Philadelphia & Erie Railroad. His office and salesroom are on Market Street. He also engaged in the lumber business and has owned and operated the Warrensville Flour Mill. Mr. Crawford married on Jan 1 1852 to Mary the daughter of Samuel L Casner of Warrensville. They have three children: Elsie Jane, Annis Hyman and Harrison Tallman Crawford. Mr. Crawford is a Republican and has served on the common council and has been president of the Board of health for ten years.
