A retired operator of her own ceramic shop, Mrs. Abernathy was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church and also a long time volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband, Lannom D. Abernathy. She is survived by her son, Gilbert 'Nick' Abernathy, Brentwood Tn., daughter, Virginia 'Jenny' Zimmerly, Dallas, Tx.; step-son, Jack Abernathy, Hawkinsville, Ky.; step-daughter, Miriam Markert, Cordele, Ga. two grandsons...; granddaughter...; nine step-grandchildren...; and ten step great grandchildren...
