Corrie Elizabeth Smith (Nannie) Harris, 98, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Corrie was born in Roanoke County, Va., on January 8, 1918, to Ollie Thomas and Rena Wood Smith. In addition to her parents, Corrie was also predeceased by her husband, Burks Dalton Harris; and her son-in-law, James David (GOMER) Honaker. Corrie was a homemaker for most of her married life and later worked for Arlans's Department Store on Williamson Road for many years before retiring. Corrie was a sweet, lovable woman and easily made many friends over the years. She was a woman who inspired many with her zest for life and her belief to live life to the fullest. Many people will miss her, and we will forever cherish our countless, happy memories with her. Left to cherish wonderful memories are her daughter, Sharron Harris Honaker; her grandson, David Tipton (Tip) Honaker; granddaughter-in-law, Angela; and great-grandsons, Zachary Tipton and Zian Burks Honaker. Corrie also leaves behind several nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Funeral Services are scheduled for noon on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Oakey's East Chapel on Cloverdale Road. Interment will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
