Deceased Name: Richard Baer Nov. 23, 1954-May 28, 2014

Richard Ray (Pooh) Baer passed away May 28, 2014, in Portland, Oregon.
Pooh was born on November 23, 1954, in St. Helens, Oregon, to Rachel J. (Baer) Runyan and John R. Baer.
He attended school at Yankton Elementary, St. Helens Junior High and later went on to graduate from St. Helens High School in 1973.
He was married to Renee M. Baer on July 14, 1979, at Yankton Church. They moved to Yankton, Oregon, where they welcomed two children, Alicea May and Matthew Richard Baer.
Rick began his lifelong dump truck driving career in the early 1970s working for Dick Backlund. He went to work for Johnston Brothers where he was employed for 13 years before finally deciding to move closer to home. He went on to work for the Columbia County Road Department where he ended his career in 2010.
Rick enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars and splitting wood, but his most favorite thing of all was spending time with his children, grandchildren and his dog, Zander.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, brother and grandmother.
He is survived by his mother, Rachel (Bud) Runyan; children, Alicea Baer (Mike Duddington) and Matthew (Brianne) Baer; and three beautiful granddaughters, Lydeah Alayne and Lileigh Ana Baer and Willa Ray Duddington.
Rick will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
There will be a private graveside service for family.
A celebration of life will follow on Saturday, June 21, at 4 p.m., at "The Baer Residence," 61006 Gensman Road, St. Helens, Oregon. This will be a potluck/barbecue and all are welcome to join and share memories of Pooh.
