Tyler was one of three victims that was killed in two separate automobile accidents. Tyler was driving her Honda Accord that was stuck by Josie Robertson who was driving her Nissan Versa northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 49. Neither Tyler nor Josie Robertson were wearing seatbelts. Josie Robertson died on the scene, while Tyler was transported to a local hospital where she later died.
The second accident occurred in Arnaudville where 22 year old Aaron Guidry was struck by 28 year old Brandon Allemond of Arnaudville. Aaron was wearing black shorts and a light top in a dark area and was struck when Brandon Allemond swerved to avoid hitting him. Aaron Guidry died at the scene.

CARENCRO- Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Tyler "Tye" Compton, 24, who passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro. Apostle Matthew Sias, Sr. will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Darrell Washington and Lolita Leblanc.

Tyler was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Carencro. She was a 2010 graduate of Carencro High School, where she excelled at basketball and growing up, was always ready for a game of one-on-one. After graduation she went on to play on for two years at LSUE (Louisiana State University of Eunice) and two years at Concordia University in Austin, Texas. She attended Southern University majoring in Kinesiology, which she studied at all three colleges. Tyler was employed with Walmart Distribution Center. She was an entrepreneur, starting her own clothing line called "Juicy Clothing" and had recently began photography. She was one of a kind with an infectious smile. She was a loving daughter, friend, sister, niece who will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Survivors include her parents, John Compton, Jr. of Lafayette and Terese Malveaux Leger and her husband, Tony, Sr., of Carencro; two brothers, Tony Leger, Jr. of Carencro and Darius Marquis; three sisters, Trystyn Leger of Carencro, Kayo Leblanc of Cecilia and Aliko Leblanc of Cecilia; her cousin, Madison Angelle; four aunts, Allison Malveaux, Wendy Breaux, Cathy Clayton and Keisha Renee Pellerin; her maternal grandfather, Joseph Malveaux, ; her paternal grandparents, John Compton, Sr. and Joyce Compton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Joyce Malveaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service on Saturday.
