He is survived by one son, James Edward Matheny; three granddaughters, Kourtney Lane Matheny, Angelina Kathlene Matheny and Raegan Lea Perkins; one great-grandson, Elijah James Matheny; and one aunt, Pat (Ralph) Smith.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Matheny.
Jim was an Army veteran. He worked as a truck driver for Lane's Motor Fright Lines. He also worked as a rig up hand in the oil fields of northwest Oklahoma and Texas.
