Georgia Margaret Council, 72, of Cowan, died Friday at the Methodist Hospital of Middle Tennessee following an extended illness.
Born in Sherwood November 11, 1914, she was the daughter of Tom and Elizabeth Bradford Beene.
Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. Andy Gay officiating. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, William A. Council; four sons, Raymond Council of Cowan, Steve Council of Michigan and Tommy Garner and Johnny Garner, both of Sherwood; one sister, Nannie Mae Weems of Dickson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
