Son of Robert Krickbaum and Rachel Elizabeth Beggs Patterson. Brother of David, Milton James, Robert Harry, Nancy M. (m. Gillette) and Edna Jane Patterson. Husband of (1)Mary Ellen Boley (2)Edith Wilson Allison. Father of Helen Elizabeth Patterson Padgett, Robert Krickbaum Patterson, Stanley Harold Patterson, James Allison Patterson, Russell M. Patterson and David Waid Patterson.

J. A. Patterson lived at 400 E. Butler St. Mercer, PA. John A. Patterson 6-14-1955 John A. Patterson, 400 East Butler St., a highly respected citizen of the Mercer community,died yesterday at his home following a short illness. He was 91. A son of Robert K. and Elizabeth Beggs Patterson, he was born in Worth Township on Aug. 28, 1863. Mr. Patterson was twice married. Mary Boley Patterson died in 1900, and Edith Allison Patterson died in 1943. A carpenter by occupation, he owned and operated the Patterson Lumber Co. in Mercer, where he had lived practically all of his life. He retired in 1930. He was a life member of the United Presbyterian Church of Mercer and an elder for many years. Surviving are the following five children: Mrs. Helen Padgett, wife of Fred W. Padgett, Bloomfield , NJ.: Russell, Jamestown; Stanlay H., James and Atty. Waid Patterson, all of Mercer. A son, Robert, died in 1940. Thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
