John Adam Clagett, 72, died at his home in Taneytown Saturday, September 17, 1955 at 7 p. m. after suffering a heart attack. He had been In declining health for four years. A son of the late John and Annie Hohman Clagett, he lived in Taneytown for the past two years. He was formerly a resident of Manchester. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nellie Long Clagett, and two sons and a daughter, J. S. Clagett, Taneytown R. D.; Harry C. Clagett, Hampstead; Mrs. Bernard Allman, Washington; seven grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 10 a. m. at the Clagett residence. The Rev. Morgan R. Andreas officiated. Burial was in Sherman's Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Royal Clagett, Wilfred Gerbrick and Harry and Albert Long, nephews of Mr. Clagett, and Ralph Rexroth and Harry Miller.
