Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 86, Public Lot 2205, Grave #25.
According to a 1920s map of this public lot, the once legible inscription on this stone included the name “Henrietta" (Henrietta Lawrence).

Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 86, Public Lot 2205, Graves #25-26.
Public lot graves, measuring about 4 by 8 feet in area, have room for only one stone apiece, limiting the space for inscribed text. A typical public lot grave can accommodate about 5 adults—more if those interred are infants or have been cremated. Occasionally, adjacent public lot graves were purchased by the same family, which is what happened here. Many public lot graves are unmarked, but there are stones of a similar style here—unfortunately, both are completely eroded and illegible.
According to a 1920s map of this public lot, the once legible inscription on the stone at left included the name “Henrietta” (Henrietta Lawrence), and the stone on the right, the surname Lawrence.
