Daniel was born on 13 Nov 1900 to James A. and Ida Reichert Ritchie in Seattle. His father was a coal miner from Canada and his mother from Pennsylvania. It was a large family of 12 children. His first marriage to Helene Amelia Millier was short lived and ended in divorce. He would remarry to Ella Nora Egge on 04 Jan 1935 in Seattle. He was 34 and she was 26. They lived at 8004 39th Ave SW in West Seattle. In 1940 he was working as an engineer for a fish packing company. He and Ella had two children, Mary and Danny, Jr. He died at the age of 77, and just missing the birth of his two granddaughters, Megan and Melinda born one and four years later. Ella would died 11 years later.
