Gracie M. Akins, 93, Greencastle died Monday afternoon at the Heritage House Convalescent Center. She was born Feb. 25, 1905 in Paint Lick, Ky., the daughter of James W. and Myrtle (Barnett) Reynolds. She married Virgil D. Akins on Nov. 30 1922, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1970. She was a homemaker and a member of Haw Creek Church of Christ in Ladoga.Survivors include two sons, James A. Akins, Auburndale, Fla. and Jerry A. Akins, Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter, Dorothy Reeves, Greencastle; a sister Anna Frances Blaydes, Ohio; a brother, Everett Reynolds, Arizona; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Carolyn Craig, and Juanita Akins; a son Robert C. Akins; and twelve brothers and sisters. Grave side services will be conducted 1 P.M. Friday at Forrest Hill Cemetery. Visitation is set for 4-8 P.M. Thursday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home.
