My wonderful great gramma was a very hard worker, loving mother and grandmother. She married first Henry Harold Lister and had two sons. Henry died young leaving her with their fist son Ray and expecting the second. He was named Carl and he died the day he was born. Gram then married Henry's step uncle my grt. grandfather Roy and they had 11 more children one of them was also named Carl, this baby died at the age of two . She was an example of everything good for me, as I heard that she never swore an oath as my grt. grandfather said, she baked and cleaned and was a farmer's wife. All the laundry for 11 children must have been back breaking work..She was a very short lady, but she was mighty. My grampa Harold told me that I made good pies like his mother, she would make them ten at a time, all the mouths to feed in their family and then at harvest more cooking for the help. She liked to fish and still liked going fishing in her old age. I was happy that she got to see my oldest child, her grt grt. grandson. She loved holding him. She died before our daughter was born. She loved Christmas at her house and lamented if all her children were not there. She is with them all now and I know she is happy.
Before her death she lived with her children one at a time for a few months and then would move. Until she said, I am not going to move any more. She was then at her son, my grampa Harold's house. She was just such a sweet caring little lady. I towered over her more 5 inches, she was so small, but she did all she needed to do all her life very well.
