Nadine Frances Linville, 85, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, joining her husband of fifty years, James Richard "Dick", where he was awaiting her since Nov. 2005.
Nadine Hofmann Linville was born on Dec. 2, 1921 on the family farm north of Norborne, the only child of Joseph and Margaret Simms Hofmann. Nadine married James Richard "Dick" Linville on Oct. 15, 1955 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. She was a life-long resident of Norborne. Nadine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne, and St. Anne's Altar Society. Nadine was educated at the Marshall School and Norborne Grade and High Schools. She attended St. Theresa's College, Northwest Missouri State Teacher's College, and graduated from Missouri Valley College. Nadine shared her love of learning with generations of children as a Teacher, beginning in 1941 at the one-room Little Brick School near Hardin. She later taught Kindergarten in the Norborne School system until her retirement in 1986.
Survivors include: her beloved daughter, Elaine Marie of Glenaire; one son and daughter-in-law, John Joseph and his wife, Connie, of Kansas City, Mo.; and two granddaughters, Andrea and Sara, of Kansas City, Mo.

Visitation was held from 7 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 at Gibson Funeral Home in Norborne, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne, with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Norborne.
Arrangements were under the direction of Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
