"James D. Kane, a life long resident of this vicinity, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 29th at the home of his brother, Albert, with whom he resided. Death was due to the infirmities of age accompanied by other complications, he having reached his ninety-sixth milestone in life's journey. Funeral services were held from the Lutheran church Tuesday at one o'clock conducted by Rev. Paris. Interment was made at Slate Hill cemetery. He is survived by his brother, Albert; two sons, William and Walter, and one daughter, Mrs. Ada Antis of Johnstown, several grandchildren and great grandchildren."
