She was born Nov. 27, 1941, in Mooresville, the daughter of Charles Thomas 'Tom' and Ruby J. Paustian Garlick. On April 6, 1979, she married Wayne R. 'Buzzy' Mendenhall in Laurie, Mo. He survives of the home. Mrs. Mendenhall was a 1960 graduate of Jamesport High School and graduated from Casters Beauty Academy in St Joseph. She spent her lifetime in Livingston and Grundy Counties, moving to Chillicothe from Trenton 17 years ago.
Mrs. Mendenhall was a hairdresser for 24 years Trenton and Chillicothe. She owned and operated Fashion Flair Beauty Salon in Trenton from 1965 to 1979. Mrs. Mendenhall was employed at Moore Monument Company in Chillicothe as a secretary until 1995. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Trenton and was a member-at-large of Beta Sigma Phi social sorority.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah J. Cleeton of Parkville; two stepsons, Wayne Mendenhall III and Chris Mendenhall, both of Chillicothe; a stepdaughter, Michelle Zellers of Kansas City; a brother, Charles Garlick of Gallatin; two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John William Garlick.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 1996, at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Chuck Greever, assisted by Dr. Steve Phillips, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, May 10, 1996
