William E. Donnini Sr., 89, of New Alexandria, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, in Latrobe Care Center, Latrobe. He was born March 5, 1927, in Hartford, Ind., a son of the late Edlo and Mary Szmerezsnyak Donnini. Prior to retirement, he worked as a mechanic at B&P and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the former St. Boniface Church, Penn, Fort Allen Antique Tractors, American Legion Post 472 of Manor, Penn Rod & Gun Club, Teamsters Local Union 30, lifetime member of Youngwood Sportsmen's Association, past president of Lincoln Heights Lions Club and called bingo at Lincoln Heights Community Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Kathryn Sugent Donnini; and brother and sister-in-law, James Donnini and his wife, Helen. He is survived by seven children, William Donnini Jr., of Casper, Wyo., Edward Donnini and his wife, Jacalyn, of Owasso, Okla., Mary Anne Painter, of Jeannette, Victoria Roman, of Export, Kathryn Albert, of Gorham, Maine, Susan Truxal and her husband, John, of New Alexandria, and Sandra Schaller Curale and her husband, Michael, of Kissimmee, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Donnini and his wife, Jane, of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
