Mr. Tommy Leon Banks, age 63, of Williamson, passed away August 24, 2016. He was born in Griffin, son of the late Thomas Banks and Mattie Bishop Banks. Tommy worked in construction for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Joyce Banks, Doris Strickland, Cathy Kennedy and a brother, Harry Banks.
He is survived by his son: Jacob Banks and mother Marie Lawrence both of Williamson; daughter: Susan Renee Kauffman of VA; granddaughters: Rae Anna Winings and Ariel Kauffman both of VA; brother and sister-in-law: Donald and Linda Banks of Griffin; special nephew: Glenn Banks and wife Tiffany of Griffin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Bridgeway Hospice for their compassion and care, especially Nurse Ruby Vaughan.
A memorial service is being planned and will be held at West Griffin Baptist Church.
