Muncie – Elizabeth R. Absher, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on November 8, 1934 in New Castle, the daughter of Mary Ginn (Nantz).
Elizabeth was a caregiver to the elderly for over forty years in her home. She had also worked for Hardy Manufacturing in Union City along with New Castle State Hospital.
Elizabeth was a master at needle point and crocheting. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends, especially her great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her son, Blake Absher (wife, Julie) of Yorktown; granddaughter, Amanda Deardorff (Tim Shears); her great-granddaughter, Delila Shears; her nephew, Kevin Absher; her cousins, David and Leroy Nantz and their families.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her uncle who helped raise her, Leslie Nantz (wife, Ruth); and her brother, Leslie Ginn.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Mt. Summit Cemetery in Mt. Summit.
