Obituary for Curtis Reid Lowery
A memorial service for Curtis Reid Lowery of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The family will meet with friends immediately following the service. Mr. Lowery, 78, passed away Saturday, August 27 at his residence. Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Jesse R. and Annie Adams Lowery. He was retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon, GA where he was an instructor for more than 30 years, and an active member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Lowery of Cordele; two children, a son and his wife, Jason and Kim Lowery of Atlanta and a daughter and her husband, Labeth and Gene Youngblood of Richmond, VA; a brother, Norbert Lowery of Tequesta, FL; a sister and her husband, Barbara and Jerry Whittington of Rochelle; and five grandchildren, Bethany Youngblood, Trace Youngblood, Grant Youngblood, Melody Youngblood and Ivey Lowery.
