Edna served on the Somerville Borough Council from 1976 thru 1981 and was the first female president of the council. As a member of the council, she helped initiate the revitalization project, senior housing and served as police commissioner. She also served one term on the Board of Education. Edna enjoyed traveling with Andy, especially Super Bowls, and in later years their winter home in Sarasota Florida. She was a extraordinary baker, her specialty nut and poppy seed cake at Christmas time was always a hit. She was devoted to her family, church and town.
Edna was predeceased by her son Andy Jr. and husband Andy Sr. She is survived by her 5 sons David of Somerville, Thomas of Santa Fe, NM, Peter (Kathleen) of Somerville, Chris of Somerville, and Paul (Marilyn) of Easton, Pa. She is also survived by grand children Ian (Taryn), Eric (Tammy), Rebecca (Victor II), Kristyn (Edy), Karen, Ashley, Isabella, and Evan; great-grandchildren: Tres, Tyler, Casey, Adrianna, Elle, Andrew, and Cody; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews. Also surviving is her beloved sister Marie Bernabe, and brothers John, Stanley, Bernie, and James Rosania, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Ethel and brothers Richard, Ronald, Dale, and Michael Rosania.
Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday December 28, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville, NJ. Following a service at funeral home Monday, a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at Immaculate Conception Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association .
