She was married to Hewitt Shute (ca 1850-1926), the son of Philip Shute and Elizabeth (Bradford) Shute.
Living at 1100 Pennock Avenue, Nashville, Margaret was 84 years old and a widow when she died at home of acute Bright's disease on May 29, 1937. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery.
