Marvin Franklin Anthony of Highland passed away at his home on Aug. 20, 2016 at age 92.

He was born Oct. 30, 1923, in McGahesville, Va., to Lola May and Charles Anthony.

Marvin was a WWII Army Veteran from 1942 to 1947, involving assignments in Alaska and Greenland.

Marvin met Mary DiFalco in Alliance, Ohio, in 1950 and they were joined in wedlock on June 30, 1951. They moved to Southern California in 1958.

Marvin and Mary opened Anthony’s Nursery on Base Line in Highland in 1965 and Marvin was also owner of Anthony’s Landscaping for over 40 years. Prior to his full retirement, Marvin closed the nursery and opened M&M Plumbing Supply at the same location on Base Line in Highland.

Marvin is survived by his lwife of 65 years, Mary Anthony of Highland; a sister, Mary Wilson of Palm Springs; two sons, Dwayne Anthony (& Daughter-in-law, Ofelia Anthony) of Highland and Wayne ! Anthony of Manchester, N.H; two granddaughters, Natasha Gonzalez of Banning and Cherie Gonzales of San Bernardino; and, four great grandchildren.

Marvin attended the Highland Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for well over 40 years. Services will be private under direction of Arrowhead Aftercare in Highland..
