PORTER –MARY JANE KITHCART, 53, wife of Daniel C. Kithcart of Ulster RR2 died Monday evening, Oct. 28, 2002 at her home following an extended illness. Born April 7, 1949 in Sayre, she was a daughter of Aletha Myers Porter and the late Denton Porter. Mary Jane spent her early years growing up in Terrytown and was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School Class of 1967. On April 13, 1968 she married Daniel C. Kithcart in Laceyville. Mary Jane was employed by GTE Sylvania in Towanda for 25 years until declining health no longer permitted her to continue. She enjoyed bowling for many years and attended the Terrytown Baptist Church. Surviving are; her husband of 35 years, Daniel C. Kithcart at home; her mother, Aletha Porter of park Place, Wyalusing; her son, Daniel C. Kithcart Jr. of Washington; her sister, Barbara Porter of park Place, Wyalusing; two brothers, Robert Porter and his wife, Linda Porter of Wyalusing and Gordon Porter of Athens; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Denton Porter. A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral home, 217 York Ave., Towanda with the Rev. Dennis Fox, Pastor of the Terrytown Baptist Church officiating. There are no calling hours. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Memorial Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Towanda, Pa. in Mary Jane Kithcart’s memory.
