Helen Y. Acosta went to be with the Lord Tuesday April 20 at Gila Regional Medcial Center. Miss Acosta was born July 22, 1930 to Pete Acosta and Esther Young. She was preceded in death by her father Pete, a brother Peter, a niece Mary Ann; uncles Joe Young and Alfonso Young and a cousin Ray Alfaro. She is survived by brothers Ronald Acosta and Bill Acosta and wife Della; sisters Irene Royball and husband Alfred, Isabel Martinez and husband Pete and Dorothy Trujillo and numerous nieces and nephews. Miss Acosta suffered from diabetes and was blind for 10 years. She was very independent. She loved horses, dogs and cats and would take care of stray dogs and cats. She liked to play the guitar and sing. She had a great imagination and a great sense of humor. She liked to play jokes on her sisters, especially Irene. She likes to help people and was very kindhearted. At her request cremation has taken place. Rosary was said Wednesday at Baca's Funeral Chapels and Mass was celebrated Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Church with Father Rod Nichols officiating. Cremains were taken to St. Vincent's Cemetery and buried with her father Pete Acosta
