Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Ref. Church for John De Kock, 86, who passed away at the local hospital Wednesday evening, Sept. 14.
Born at Pella, Ia., in 1874, he was married to Hattie De Jong in 1903. They were the parents of six children: Marion of Hawarden; Lola (Mrs. Peter Raak) of Orange City; Vernon of Sioux Center, and Harvey of Fort Dodge.
Two sons, James and Lester, passed on many years ago. Mrs. De Kock passed away 15 years ago.
There are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. De Kock and family lived at Maurice until 20 years ago when they retired to Orange City. Mr. De Kock has been a resident in the Pioneer Home since the death of Mrs. De Kock.
A brief ceremony was held at the Pioneer Home Saturday. Rev. N. Reck officiated. Interment was made in the Maurice cemetery.
