Cruz was born on November 2, 1933, in Loving, New Mexico to Jesusita Gonzales and Cruz Bustamante, Sr.
He graduated from Dinuba High School and Mohler Barber College. He had a successful career as a barber and later served as Administrator with the Greater California Employment Program and United Health Centers.
Additionally, he served on the City of San Joaquin Council as both a member and Mayor Pro Tem. Cruz also served on many civic, educational and community boards and committees. Cruz cherished many long lasting friendships throughout his career and civic involvement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesusita and Cruz Bustamante, Sr.; and brothers, Mike and Edward Bustamante. Although we are now apart, your memory will live within us, forever in our hearts.
Cruz is survived by Dominga Bustamante, his loving wife of 54 years; children, Cruz M. Bustamante, Belinda Rossette, Dorothy Arroyo, and Ron, Andrew and Naomi Bustamante; siblings, Belia Aldaco, and Arnold, Alfred, Avel, Mary, Manuel, Danny, Vera and Vita Bustamante; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many other dear friends and family members.
Visitation will be held at Saint Helens Catholic Church in Fresno on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Catherine's Catholic Church in Dinuba on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at 10:00 a.m.
Burial Services will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery, Dinuba.
