Obituary:
Services for Wilfred H. Pine, 83, Manhattan, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church here. Burial will be at Sunrise Cemetery.

Mr. Pine died Thursday, March 30, 1995, at Meadowlark Hills Health Care Unit.

He was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Lawrence, the son of Clarence and Gertrude Pine.

He was an instructor in agricultural economics at Kansas State University from 1935 until he was named full professor in 1949. He retired in 1980. He was a member of numerous professional organizations and honor societies and was author or co-author of many publications related to his field.

In Manhattan, he was a member of several civic organizations. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He married Beatrice Lasswell Pine on Sept. 3, 1939, at Emmett. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Janet Pine, Vacaville, Calif.; a son, Stanley, Kalispell, Mont.; a sister, Agnes Strobel, Topeka; and three grandchildren.
