He is preceded in death by his parents J. D. and Dorothy LaVelle Ellis.
Jack is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Barry Parrish of McKinney, sister and brother-in-law, Sherrie and Phillip McDonald of Fort Smith, AR, nephews, Michael Simants and wife Stephanie and children of Edmond, OK, Christofer Simants and wife Kelly and sons of Frisco, TX.
Jack leaves behind many dear friends and cousins and the family would like to express special acknowledgement to Vivian Forsch and Dean Griswold for their indefatigable devotion to him and care for him.
He worked in the microelectronics field for many years, and then business management and business development which included the founding of several start-ups. But his passion was in cooking and his happiness was in his most recent venture, the creation of a gourmet specialties business featuring gourmet seasonings, salts, sauces, marinades, and vinegars. Jack also had a green thumb and a zeal and delight in gardening. He never met a stranger, and his compassion was freely available to friend or unknown.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held Saturday September 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the North Texas Masonic Historical Museum and Library [part of the Plano Masonic Lodge] at 1414 J Avenue, Plano.
Inturnment will be at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, TX.
