Betty Jean Mackinson, 75, of Pontiac, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at 9:20 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Her service will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with cremation rites to follow. Reverend Tom Goodell will officiate. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac at a later date.
Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Pontiac.
Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
Betty was born July 14, 1941 in Rapatee, IL to Gerald Thomas and Bernice V. (Cundy) Gourley. She married Robert E. Mackinson on January 19, 1973 in Ottawa, IL. He passed away in August of 1992.
She is survived by her daughter, son, sister, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one son, Robert Zbinden; two brothers, Sam Gourley and Bill Gourley; one sister, Letitia Highland; and one grandson, Shannon Brogden.
Betty attended Cornell Grade School and was a graduate of Cornell High School, Class of 1959. She worked for the Polk County Sheriff Department as a Detention Officer. She was of the Methodist faith.
