Today we celebrate Jane Ann Huss, age 69, one of this life's most sparkling gems. After a full life of love and laughter, Jane passed peacefully at Taylor House Hospice on Monday, September 5, 2016, surrounded by close friends and family.
A life-long resident of Des Moines, Iowa, Jane attended Lincoln and Valley High Schools as well as Drake University.
Family and friends were a dominant theme throughout her life. Her loyalty and commitment to those she loved was evident through decades-long friendships and an ever growing family that included 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
In passing, Jane joins her husband of 37 years and the love of her life, John P. Huss as well as her mother, Linda McFarland, father, Homer (Mac) McFarland and in-laws Luellen, Paul and Don Huss. For Jane, passing was never "The end", but a simple journey to reunite with those she loved so much.
Jane is survived by her sister Judy Prince, nieces Cathy and Marcie, and nephew David, as well as children, Patrick Clark, Theresa Allen and husband Ross, Andrew Clark and wife Sharon, Vanessa Wulf and Joe Andersen, and Jennifer Huss. Jane was also blessed with grandchildren, Taylor Gray, Noah Frederiksen, Sophia and Maia Clark, Madison, Simon, and Garrett Clark, and Claudia and Carter Wulf.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50315, on Friday, September 9, 2016, 10am.
The family will greet friends at Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50312, on Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 6 to 8pm. A Rosary will be said just prior at 5pm.
Private inurnment will be at a later date in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa.
