Although Edward purchased lots for his wife and children in Historic Columbian Cemetery, there is no record that he was actually buried here.
Jacob Robert Gillam, b. 1871 in Kansas, died July 12, 1953 in Vancouver, WA; his obituary says he is survived by a brother Edward in Canada.
A very poor image of a border crossing from Canada to the US shows Edward W. Gillam, age 61, born in Kansas, crossed the border into Eastport, Idaho, on March 14, 1930. It appears to say he lived in the US until 1917, and became a Canadian citizen in 1926. He gave a contact of Robt (not clear that there was a surname, but possibly an initial L) at 1706 Clarendon in Portland. Edward's mother Louise lived at 1706 Clarendon at the time of her death in 1914.
