"Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Dillenback, 88, widow of Jonas Dillenback, well known business man of Cobleskill, died at her home here on West Main street Sunday, November 6, having been in poor health for some time. Mrs. Dillenback was born at Sprakers, January 23, 1848, and was the daughter of Ephraim and Adelia Gross Spraker. She resided with her daughter, Mae Dillenback, and her home has been in this village for many years. Mrs. Dillenback was a member of Zion Lutheran church, Rising Star Chapter, O. E. S., and a charter member of Captain Christian Brown Chapter, D. A. R. The surviving relatives are five daughters, Miss Mae Dillenback of Cobleskill, Mrs. H. O. Pickett of Watervliet, Miss Lula Dillenback of Albany, Mrs. John W. Herrick of Castleton, Mrs. Ethel B. Smith of Schenectady, one son, Professor Lemuel C. Dillenback of Syracuse, one sister and three brothers. Another son, Carl S. Dillenback, died here March 12, 1932. There was also grandchildren surviving. Funeral services were held in the Mereness funeral home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Charles D. Geiger, pastor of the Lutheran church, officiating.
