Benjamin was the son of James Ems Metheny & Mary (Lamayne) Metheny. Birth per some researchers was Preston County, West Virginia??

We record three marriages:

1- Sarah(Postlethwaite)Preston Feb 13, 1812 in Greene, PA

2- Rebecca Jane Slavens Dec. 28, 1851 in Jasper Co.,IL

3- Nancy Wright Sep 18, 1856 in Jasper Co.,IL

We have found theses children:

Isaac (16 Apr 1813) , William , James P. , Hannah , Rebecca , Nathan , John , Melissa Caroline & Benjamin W.

(NOTE: I use this spelling "Metheny" as it is what was on my grandmother Sarah's marriage record. Many use "Matheny" and researchers need to watch for other spelling as well)
