Rebecca Jane was the daughter of William & Rebecca Jane Slavens.

She married Benjamin Metheny on Dec. 28, 1851 in Jasper Co.,IL..

We record two children:Melissa Caroline & Benjamin W. Metheny

Rebecca Jane Slavens married Benjamin Metheny on Dec. 28, 1851 in Jasper County, Illinois.

She was likely the widow of William Slaven(s), who died December 20, 1850.

A Rebecca Day married a William Slaven in Marion County, Indiana on October 1, 1831.

Fred just got some of her details wrong.

William Slaven wasn't married at the time of Rebecca's approximate birth, and there is no evidence in the census of such a daughter.

Rebecca's husband and Ben's wife both died at about the same time, and William's administrator was Joseph Robinson, his son-in-law, and a member of the Robinson family with whom the Methenys had intermarried multiple times.

I (Brody Finney) removed the reference to the children, since Malissa is linked, and Benjamin W actually belonged to Benjamin's son Isaac.
