Minnie L. Croley, age 85, formerly of Richmond, died Friday, September 9, 2016, at Greystone Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Born April 15, 1931, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to Sylvanus and Gemima Abigail Baker Durham, Minnie lived most of her life in Liberty and Richmond. She was a nurse aide and retired from Seton School. Minnie was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Connersville, Indiana. She enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening, sketching, and bird watching.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen (Joe) Croley-Barger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Stacey (Bob Detlefsen) Hughes of Indianapolis, Indiana, Juanita (Mike Toschlog) Philbeck of Sabrina, Ohio, Douglas (Tiffany) Philbeck Jr. of Richmond, Indiana, and Jacob (Krista) Tompkins of Centerville, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa (Josh) Barnett, Autumn, Zander, Harper, Kayla, Mike, and Micah; great-great-grandson, Briar; sisters, Betty Riley of Centerville, Indiana, Geneva Pitcher of Connersville, Indiana, and Gladys McVay of Richmond, Indiana; brother, James Durham of Richmond; nieces, nephews, and cousins in Kentucky; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Croley; parents; sisters, Edna Turner, Hazel Wright, and Verla Scott; and brothers, Harold Durham, Oliver Durham, and Jackson Durham.
Visitation for Minnie L. Croley will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with nephew, Rev. Vincent Wright, officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, Indiana.
