Samuel Ed Neely was born on March 1, 1856 in Tennessee, the son of Joshua Neely (1826-1904) and Celia E (Grizzard) Neely (1826-1865). [It is noted that, while his Death Certificate informant had listed Samuel's mother as Mary, apparently it was Celia E.]
A care taker living at 204 Woodland Street, Nashville, Samuel was 81 years old and single when he died of arteriosclerotic heart disease at Nashville General Hospital on July 10, 1937. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery.
