James J. Koniak, 81, of Gillespie passed away at 4:20 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Benld to Paul and Mary (Bella) Koniak.
He married Judy J. (Lonzerotti) Koniak on Sept. 15, 1962, at St. Joseph's Church in Benld; she survives.
Mr. Koniak was a member of the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his wife, surviving are a son and his spouse, Jeffrey and Jamie (Schoen) Koniak; siblings, Frank Koniak of Gillespie, Bill Koniak of Godfrey, Bob Koniak of Sawyerville and Rose Salovich of Gillespie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Koniak; and an infant daughter.
